Signage Collaboration

Partnering with Ecumen, the Latitude team collaborated on the signage Planning and Design for four locations across Iowa. The goal was to enhance the resident experience through practical and aesthetically pleasing signage. It was critical to create a cohesive wayfinding system that would aid in navigation, provide clear identification of specific areas, and add to the overall ambiance of the facilities. Our team of experts, designers, fabricators, and installers provided signage packages for CopperWood in Ankeny, as well as three other Ecumen locations in Iowa: PrairieStone in Cedar Falls, Hickory Trail in Iowa City, and Quartet in Bettendorf.

Signage at CopperWood

Copper Wood Interior Signage 500

CopperWood Senior Living presented a dynamic environment with diverse areas such as dining rooms, a theater, clubrooms, a dog wash, a greenhouse, a wellness center, a salon, and an art studio. The senior residents’ need for clear, readable, and intuitive signage opened the door to designing a functional and beautiful system. The facility’s multi-level structure allowed for the creative use of themes and color schemes by floor to help residents quickly identify their location. While the signage remains similar throughout, the uniqueness of each floor is created through color and artwork.

The interior signage design is simple, with a teak laminate backer on the room, restroom, directionals, and evacuation maps that match the wood design throughout the environment. Signs with changeable inserts are used at residents’ doors for the ability to customize with their names.

The sign code in the Prairie Trail area requires using elements similar to the building for an architectural look. The CopperWood monument sign, which is illuminated and double-sided, achieves this with the stone on the monument.

Latitude continues to work hard to ensure a smooth and cohesive signage experience on all projects. Have questions or want to see more? We’re here for that! Connect now.
